FAST FACTS

About The

NILFISK GM 90

FACT 1

Cleaning with an ordinary vacuum only redistributes the dust throughout the room! Most ordinary vacuums utilize a porous bag as the only means of capturing dust. Since most allergy and respiratory discomfort rests with dust particles between 0.2 and 2 microns in size (one human hair is 80-100 microns in diameter) the "danqerous dust" is actually escaping back into the air through the vacuum exhaust.

FACT 2

HEPA-filtered vacuums are not a guarantee that "dust-free" air will be exhausted from the vacuum. Vacuums that contain a true HEPA filter aren't necessarily designed to be leak-proof. Micron-sized allergens can, and do, escape through the imperfect seals on the container and around the filters. However, the Nilfisk Allergy Vacuum was initally designed for use in toxic lead and asbestos dust collection, which requires air tight seals. This combination of HEPA filtration and air tiqht seals guarantees virtually dust-free exhaust air and no dust leakaqe.

FACT 3

Water-filtered vacuums are not as effective as certain dry-filtered vacuums in retaining harmfu allergy dust. In study after study, water filtration vacuums have been proven to dissolve allergens, then emit them, through a mist, back into the air during and immediatey after vacuuming. This release of allergens could aggravate your allergies or asthma.

FACT 4

Maintaining a dust-free environment will enable an allergy/asthma sufferer to breathe easier and feel better. Research has demonstrated that common house dust is a major cause of allergy problems. One of the most offending is the house dust mite. Scientific studies of dust allergic patients have shown that taking steps to minimize dust mite exposure in the bedroom leads to a decrease in allergic symptoms and a decrease in medication requirements.
